Presidential election 2015 in Belarus

MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) – Three potential candidates for the post of the President of Belarus have opened their personal financial funds, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina told media on 24 July, BelTA informs.

“Three accounts have been opened,” Lidia Yermoshina said. In her words, the first account was opened with some difficulties. “The bank was not ready for the changes in the legislation. Usually it were the candidates, who are the people with the status, who opened the accounts in our country. This time, people who do not have such status and who are only the contenders, were allowed to open the accounts during this president election campaign. This was the reason for some legal difficulties but they were settled quickly," she said.

Lidia Yermoshina said that among those who opened the financial funds were two women.
