MINSK DISTRICT, 11 October (BelTA) – Sergei Gaidukevich said he believes he may come second in the race for the Belarus presidency. The candidate made the relevant statement during the voting process at polling station No. 77 in the agro-town Semkovo, BelTA has learned.
Sergei Gaidukevich spoke in glowing terms about his pre-election campaign. “I believe it was an A campaign, maybe A+,” said the candidate.
Today Sergei Gaidukevich came to the polls together with his wife Alla, son Oleg, daughter-in-law Maria, and daughter Yelizaveta. The candidate admitted he was in a festive mood. “An election is always a day to celebrate. Under any circumstances an election represents advancement, development of the state,” he noted.
Sergei Gaidukevich said he believes his participation in the election had been useful. “It is necessary to take part in elections so that people could see an alternative, could know other programs and opinions. It is beautiful when people have an alternative and the right to choose,” he said.
Sergei Gaidukevich said he intended to spend the entire day in his headquarters and planned to make a speech on Belarusian television in the evening.
Asked about his participation in the presidential elections yet to come, Sergei Gaidukevich noted: “I don’t know what to say to that, I am not a long-term player. I think the party has a lot of young people, who will represent the party and will fight with any candidate on equal terms.”
