MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) – Belarusians received every opportunity to express their will at the 2015 presidential election in Belarus, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota told media on 12 October, BelTA informs.
“We visited a big number of polling sites and our general impression is positive. First of all, the election was organized at a very high level. Every opportunity was provided to Belarusian people to express their will, including for those who could not come to the polls on 11 October,” said Grigory Rapota.
According to him, the secrecy of the ballot was respected; major violations were not registered. "There were minor things like two people going into one booth, or questions as to how fill in the ballot paper. But these were all little things, technicalities, which absolutely did not influence the vote and the results of the election," said the State Secretary of the Union State.
He also noted the high turnout and the voters’ activity in the current election campaign. In addition, Grigory Rapota believes that the people who voted against all candidates probably did it due to some emotional factors, or they had some uncertainty as to the programs of the candidates which did not offer the things that would draw their attention.
