MINSK, 8 July (BelTA) – Head of the Belarusian parliament’s delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA) Viktor Guminsky met with OSCE PA Chairperson-in-Office Ilkka Kanerva in Helsinki, the press service of the lower chamber of the Belarus parliament told BelTA.
According to the source, the sides discussed the Belarus parliament’s participation in the OSCE PA operation, ways to resolve the crisis in Ukraine, including Belarus’ contribution and the OSCE PA’s role in international efforts in this area, matters concerning the OSCE PA’s participation in the international observation of the Belarus president election, and the development of Belarus-Finland cooperation.
The Belarus parliament delegation continues taking part in the 24th annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Belarusian MPs have taken an active part in the plenary session of the Assembly and sessions of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s three general committees: on political affairs and security; economic affairs, science, technology, and environment; democracy, human rights, and humanitarian affairs. The Assembly backed a number of Belarusian amendments to draft OSCE PA resolutions, said the press service of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.
Belarusian MPs also met with heads and members of the parliamentary delegations of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bulgaria, the UK, Germany, Georgia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Poland, the USA, Tajikistan, Ukraine, France, Czechia, Sweden, and Estonia.
