MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – The CEC has received no complaints concerning the voting process abroad, BelTA learned from Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina on 11 October.
The official said as of 14:00 the foreign polling stations reported voter turnout as high as 66.8%. She noted that results of the voting process abroad do not influence the overall results inside the country.
The head of the Belarusian election organization agency added that voter turnout abroad is high as a rule since only the citizens the embassies know about are put on the registered voters list. “All of those not on the lists — people who are travelling abroad — are entered into an additional list on the basis of their passports,” she explained. Belarus’ CEC has received no complaints about voting abroad.
