Presidential election 2015 in Belarus

MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – Alexander Lukashenko’s victory at the presidential election in Belarus on 11 October 2015 is a sharp evidence of people’s great trust in the President and his social, economic and political course, Speaker of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said at a meeting of the Council of the Republic's 10^th session on 15 October, BelTA has learned.

On behalf of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich congratulated Alexander Lukashenko on his election as President of Belarus and wished him every success for the country’s benefit, strong health and wellbeing.

“The authority, including us, has been given an important task, which is to justify the people’s confidence that has been demonstrated in the recent presidential election. Today we all should take a critical look at the level of our parliamentary work, outline a system of measures for implementation in the economic, social and political sectors,” noted the Chairman of the Council of the Republic.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, field work could be more efficient. The Council of the Republic should assist companies and local council of deputies, address issues of ordinary people in line with the legislation and taking into account local features.
