MINSK, 25 August (BelTA) – Developed by the public organization Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) and the Belarusian Telegraph Agency, the mobile app Elections 2015 was presented in BelTA’s press center on 25 August.
BelTA Director General Dmitry Zhuk said: “The main purpose of the application is to present information about elections in a manner that will be accessible and convenient for everyone. Those born in sovereign Belarus will cast their votes this year. We’ve come up with the idea to develop the app to match expectations of young people.”
Andrei Belyakov, First Secretary of the BRSM Central Committee, added that it is important for the BRSM if young people get their bearings with regard to political processes. “We would like young people to know a lot about elections if not everything,” he remarked.
Pavel Batsylev, the app’s developer, pointed out that only Android users can use the app for now but there are plans to develop an iOS version soon.
The mobile app Elections 2015 offers notifications about important news concerning the election campaign, offers access to election legislation (the Electoral Code and other documents of the Central Election Commission of Belarus). Users will be able to browse basic data about presidential candidates. A FAQ about the election will be available as well. The app will also offer information about voting results and other facts.
