MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) - No one makes terms to Belarus regarding the election administration, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said in an interview with the Belarusian TV show Kontury, BelTA informs.
Speaking about the assessment of the forthcoming elections by Western partners, Vladimir Makei stressed that no one lays down terms to Belarus regarding the holding of elections and no one has the right to do this. “We are a sovereign country and hold the elections in line with the national legislation and our international obligations. I am confident that the elections will be open and transparent. We will have no problems with the process,” he underlined.
“We are interested in better relations between Belarus and the EU. We expect this to happen sooner or later. It will benefit the region, the country and our partners,” the minister said.
