MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – The calm presidential election campaign in Belarus shows the stability in the society, head of the CIS observation mission Sergei Lebedev told media on 21 September, BelTA informs.
“The statements that the elections in Belarus are a dull event are groundless. The election campaign is calm, which tells about the stability in the society. It is good that there are no clashes or confrontations,” said Sergei Lebedev.
The head of the mission also emphasized the alternative side of the election. “I am closely following the election campaign. I like the calmness of candidates’ speeches, their well-through statements. This constructive approach speaks about a high organizational level and their personal responsibility for peace and stability in Belarus,” he said.
Sergei Lebedev added that the CIS observation mission had comprised nearly 260 observers from nine countries. Their number will reach 400 people by the election day.
