MINSK, 24 September (BelTA) – The private sector is able to provide jobs in the country and cannot produce unpopular goods, Belarus’ presidential candidate Tatiana Korotkevich told her voters on the Belarus One TV channel on 24 September, BelTA informs.
The candidate believes that an active and enterprising person who can launch manufacturing or provide services should be given more freedom. In her words, employment and modernization issues at manufacturing facilities should be addressed. Tatiana Korotkevich suggested developing crisis bailout plans for many companies. She criticized the policy of external borrowings.
She also slammed the policy of supporting the agricultural sector. “I am not against kolkhozes, whatever they are called today, as long as they are efficient,” said the candidate. At the same time she backed the support of farmers. “Further development is impossible without a strong rural area, strong regions,” Tatiana Korotkevich believes.
She also stressed that people should come to the polling stations to cast their vote on 11 October.
It was Tatiana Korotkevich’s first televised speech as a candidate for the post of the President of Belarus.
