MOSCOW, 8 October (BelTA) – Head of the Central Election Commission of Russia Vladimir Churov was made familiar with the progress of early voting in the Belarus president election at the polling station in Moscow on 8 October, BelTA has learned.
Vladimir Churov examined the information materials available at the polling station, examined the voting booths, and asked how Belarusian citizens, who live in Russia, had been informed about the election. Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko explained that information about the election and the locations of the polling stations had been made available via Russian mass media, via websites, and via television. Apart from that, personalized informational letters had been sent to voters.
The Ambassador mentioned that voting had been organized not only in Moscow but also three other Russian cities: Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, and Rostov-on-Don. He also said that mobile voting will be available on the main election day upon applications of the citizens, who will be physically unable to arrive at a polling station. Apart from that, a mobile polling station will be available in the Belarus sanatorium in Sochi.
