MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – The evolvement of the civil society is underway in Belarus, candidate for the post of the President of Belarus Sergei Gaidukevich told media during a pre-election rally in his support in Minsk on 17 September, BelTA informs.
“Our country is developing. Nothing comes at once. Thank God we are moving forward. The development of the civil society is in progress. It is one of the main goals for any state,” said Sergei Gaidukevich.
According to the politician, this year’s presidential election campaign is very much different. “A lot is allowed. The voter signature collection stage can testify to the fact. Signatures could be collected anywhere. Democracy is a long way and a step-by-step strategy. Europe did not have it all at once,” he said.
Sergei Gaidukevich added that the Liberal Democratic Party launched its pre-election rallies in Belarus on 17 September. Alongside with Minsk, rallies are also held in Gomel, Vitebsk, Bobruisk, Orsha, Brest, Grodno and Novopolotsk.
