MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina has plans to meet with head of the OSCE/ODIHR mission Jacques Faure in the near future. The CEC Chairperson unveiled her plans on 16 September, BelTA has learned.
“I expect Jacques Faure will present the interim report to me,” Lidia Yermoshina said. In her words, members of the OSCE/ODIHR mission ask the CEC to provide copies of complaints and responses to them almost every week.
As for the CIS election observation mission, its representatives ask the CEC routine questions, and no official meetings at the executive level have been held yet. “Still, members of the mission regularly come to our legal office and get the necessary information from our lawyers,” Lidia Yermoshina noted.
Besides, she stressed that international observers are working absolutely independently from the CEC.
