MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina will meet with Sergei Lebedev, the head of the CIS observation mission for the forthcoming presidential election in Belarus, on 18 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
“The parties will discuss the issues related to the beginning and the organization of the work of the CIS observation mission at the presidential election in Belarus,” the press service explained.
Sergei Lebedev is also expected to visit the Dzerzhinsk territorial election commission later on the same day.
As was reported by BelTA, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Federation Yuri Vorobyov was appointed coordinator of the CIS IPA group of observers for the forthcoming presidential election. The CIS IPA group of observers will make part of the CIS observation mission. Besides, the OSCE, and PACE are also expected to send missions to monitor the presidential election in Belarus.
