MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – Eric Bohl from Denmark, who came to Belarus as part of the monitoring team of the alliance of observation missions, said he believes that the presidential election in Belarus is properly organized. He made the relevant statement on 11 October, BelTA has learned.
Eric Bohl said that he had already been to 20 polling stations in the course of the election campaign. “We are pleased with the organization of elections in your country. Sometimes small issues arise, but as a rule all of them can be resolved,” said the observer.
In his words, at polling stations the monitoring team pays attention to how voting by secret ballot is observed, whether the ballot boxes are properly sealed, and evaluates the fitness of the voting premises as a whole. “We have no complaints about that,” he said.
The foreign observer also noted that Belarus citizens are well informed about the election on 11 October.
The alliance of election observation missions is a group of international observers, which includes the European Institute Libertas (Germany), the European Foundation for Democracy (Belgium), and the European Democracy Institute (France). The group of election observers focuses on monitoring the Belarus president election. The observers are analyzing the pre-election situation, are working on the election day, and will monitor the situation after the ballot day as well.
