MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – Candidates for the post of the Belarus president should put more effort into campaigning, BelTA learned from Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina on 16 September.
“I think more effort is in order. Then voters will notice that pre-election campaigning is in progress in Belarus,” said the head of the Belarusian election organization agency. Apart from that, Lidia Yermoshina noted that presidential candidates should arrange face-to-face meetings with voters more actively.
The canvassing and propaganda stage of the campaign to elect the president of the Republic of Belarus began on 11 September. The election is scheduled for 11 October. All the candidates have published their election programs. Alexander Lukashenko and Nikolai Ulakhovich published their programs via the website of the newspaper SB. Belarus Segodnya on 16 September. Programs by Tatiana Korotkevich and Sergei Gaidukevich had been published online earlier.
