Presidential election 2015 in Belarus

MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – Citizens, who choose not to cast their votes, demonstrate an irresponsible attitude to their own country. Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina made the statement during the online conference hosted by the website of the Belarusian State Television and Radio Company, BelTA has learned.

Lidia Yermoshina remarked that those, who vote, support their country. At the same time she pointed out that citizens would die of boredom if campaigning was disallowed in the run-up to the election. No voters would show up then because they would be unaware of any elections.

The official stressed that political and informational efforts are always on the rise prior to an election. “There is no need to reject it,” she was convinced.
