MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) - The presidential candidates will be able to make a 30-minute primetime broadcast on Belarus 1 TV channel from 14 to 25 September, chairperson of the Belarus Central Election Commission Lidia Yermoshina said during a CEC session to discuss the preparation for the forthcoming election, BelTA has learned.
“The presidential hopefuls will be offered an opportunity to make a 30-minute broadcast from 14 on 25 September which will be aired on Belarus 1 TV channel in prime-time from 19h00 to 20h00. All in all, they are entitled to two 30-minute broadcasts," Lidia Yermoshina said, adding that broadcasts are free and will be aired on weekdays.
As regards radio, the candidates to the post of the president will be able to address their voters on weekdays from 21 September to 2 October, in the morning from 6.10 to 7.10. "This time on radio is prime time because people usually listen to the radio when having breakfast. Every presidential hopeful will be offered two opportunities on radio. A candidate should address his voters personally, not through his proxies,” Lidia Yermoshina said.
