Belarus' Communist Party: Presidential election was free, fair, transparent

MINSK, 13 October (BelTA) – The presidential election in Belarus was free, fair, and transparent, a statement by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus reads, BelTA has learned.

“Over 1,600 members of the Communist Party of Belarus monitored the electoral campaign and exchanged information with international observers. The results of our work give us grounds to state that the electoral process was organized and conducted in full compliance with the national legislation. The election was free, fair, transparent, and compliant with international standards,” the statement reads.

The party emphasized that the main electoral event of the year, the Belarus president election, was declared valid and marked an important milestone in the modern history of the country. “Alexander Lukashenko won the election with a majority of votes. Belarusian citizens voted for their future, social progress, stability, peace, and welfare of their families. Their choice was absolutely free and well-informed. Everything that the country has achieved over the past 20 years is precious and valuable to all those who live on the Belarusian land,” the Communist Party of Belarus noted.

The Central Committee also stressed that the election once again demonstrated to the international community that Belarusian people are active citizens aware of the responsibility for the future of their country and committed to the principles of democracy and traditional moral values.

The Communist Party of Belarus called on all the observers to be impartial and avoid double standards when assessing the presidential election.
