MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – Certain political forces in Belarus want international observers to give a negative evaluation of the election, Lidia Yermoshina, the chairwoman of the Belarus Central Election Commission (CEC), told the online conference about the Belarusian presidential election hosted by BelTA.
“These are, first of all, opposition politicians who could not take part in the election or did not manage to collect the necessary number of signatures during the first stage of the election campaign. Negative opinions are a positive moment for them. This is their objective,” Lidia Yermoshina said.
Speaking about the possibility to get rid of the stereotyped approaches in relation to Belarus on behalf of international organizations after this election campaign, the chairwoman of the Belarusian Central Election Commission said that the CEC will be focused on the positive evaluation of the election. It means that the reports should speak about progress rather than degradation. “I would like to say that it will be so. But I cannot make conclusions on behalf of other people whose goals differ from mine,” she said.
