MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) – As many as 516 national observers have been accredited to monitor the Belarus president election. The information was released by Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina during the meeting with Sergei Lebedev, head of the CIS mission to observe the presidential election, Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, CIS Executive Secretary, on 18 August, BelTA has learned.
Lidia Yermoshina said: “516 national observers have been accredited in Belarus. They represent the public foundation that will help international observers.”
“We have reached the final days for collecting signatures to nominate presidential candidates. This Saturday your mission and voters in Belarus will know how many presidential candidates will be entered into voting ballots,” said the CEC head.
The Belarus president election is scheduled to take place on 11 October.
