MINSK, 30 December (BelTA) - The mechanism to nominate delegates to the Belarusian People's Congress from among members of the local councils of deputies of all levels and representatives of major public associations is logical and objectively justified, Andrei Kuntsevich, the head of the working group of the national organizing committee for the preparation of the congress, deputy head of the Belarus President Administration, told BelTA.

“These people already have a certain mandate from their countrymen and co-workers. They work on the ground and know the main problems of certain territories and enterprises. They have experience in public discussions. In addition, they are well familiar with the architecture of governance decision making - from making proposals to their practical implementation. After all, it is not enough to pitch an idea. It is important to clearly understand how to implement it and how it benefits the country in the long term,” Andrei Kuntsevich said.

According to him, it is the sense of responsibility for the decisions made that distinguishes those who actively participate in a broad dialogue on the further development of Belarus from those who try to ignore or discredit it. “Moreover, there is an impression that the latter are simply unable to offer the society anything that would contribute to its development and growth. People are getting fed up with the destructive rhetoric from foreign prompters. Today it causes nothing but irritation,” said the deputy head of the Belarus President Administration.
