MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) – Development will be one of the key words in the speeches of the 5th Belarusian People’s Congress, Deputy Chairperson of the House of Representatives’ Permanent Commission on Education, Culture and Science Natalya Kuchinskaya told BelTA.

“This year we will hold the 5th Belarusian People’s Congress that will analyze Belarus’ achievements during the years of its sovereignty. We have done a lot, with the public concord, peace and political stability to be our main achievements. Belarus has its feet on the ground and is aimed at further evolvement. The country has a solid political, legislative, economic and social foundation. I believe that development will be one of the key words in the forthcoming speeches,” Natalya Kuchinskaya said.

Among the themes to be discussed in the first place will be the issues raised in the Presidents' State of the Nation Address. The agenda will also include the progress made in the implementation of the program for 2010-2015 and the future goals. The main document up for discussion will be the country’s social and economic development program for 2016-2020 that outlines strategic goals such as employment, export and investment.

According to Natalya Kuchinskaya, the People’s Congress will talk not only about economic goals and social issues but also about the ability of regulators to think innovatively, creatively and analytically.

“Think global, act global is a well-known principle of successful managers and professionals. Everyone of us should learn to take a state-like approach to addressing global strategic issues through the personal professional activity, look at them through the prism of the own civil stance and understand that dedicated work is important for the country’s overall development,” Natalya Kuchinskaya said.

She admitted that to be nominated for the Belarusian People’s Congress is an honorable and responsible mission.

“The tone to the discussion – constructive, sincere and businesslike – will be given by the President. I am confident that the Belarusian People’s Congress will hear different problems and proposals from its delegates. The development course of the state is the will of the people,” Natalya Kuchinskaya said.

Natalya Kuchinskaya also expects the discussion of the issues concerning the areas that form human capital assets. These are education which goal is to train a professional for the knowledge-driven economy; responsibility and role of the family in upbringing citizens; culture and public morals that are a foundation of the society.

The 5th Belarusian People's Congress will be held in Minsk on 22-23 June to discuss the social and economic development program of the Republic of Belarus for 2011-2015 and the major guidelines of the country's social and economic development program for 2016-2020.
