MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian People’s Congress will allow determining the country’s fate without external interference. Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko made the statement at the closing of the fourth session of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament on 18 December, BelTA has learned.
The MP said: “I am convinced that the forthcoming Belarusian People’s Congress will allow us to determine the country’s fate, to make decisions on matters of vital importance for the country’s social and political system without any outside interference and mediation.”
Vladimir Andreichenko stressed that the dialogue and the evolutionary way of development are the principles the Belarusian model of a socially oriented state relies on.
According to the head of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament, MPs should play the most active role in preparing the key documents that will be submitted for consideration of the Belarusian People’s Congress.
Vladimir Andreichenko urged MPs to continue meeting with citizens and continue participating in regional dialogue platforms. “Particularly in the run-up to the Belarusian People’s Congress we should use this format of work as a feedback channel connecting us with the population and allowing us to respond to processes going on in the society as fully as possible and sometimes shape these processes,” he noted.
“While massive destructive information pressure continues unabated, our job to preserve peace and accord in the society becomes particularly important. It is necessary to deliver objective information about the measures the government is taking in this complicated period to the citizens. It is necessary to provide maximum assistance to municipal government agencies in order to keep enterprises smoothly working and maintain labor discipline,” the MP believes.
At the same time problems of voters need attention and resolution. “It is important to systemically analyze the situation and work out concrete proposals for the central government and oblast governors as a result. We should identify available reserves for them,” Vladimir Andreichenko stated.
