MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) – Victory Day should be a family celebration, Director General of BelTA news agency Dmitry Zhuk said at the Minsk-Moscow video conference “70 Years of Peace: Lessons of the War and the History of the Common Victory” on 30 July, BelTA informs.
“The meaning of preserving the historical memory lies in the celebration of 9 May by our grandchildren who are unlikely to meet the heroes of the war. This memory can be preserved through our teachers. However, if we do not cherish the date in our families, it is much unlikely that this day will be celebrated on the same scale in 50 years’ time,” Dmitry Zhuk said.
According to Dmitry Zhuk, BelTA has a rich archive of war photos and other documents related to the Great Patriotic War that can help implement the task.
As was informed, BelTA has prepared numerous photo exhibitions about the Great Patriotic War that were displayed in Minsk, Belarusian regions and abroad.
