MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – Flowers of Great Victory project unites people, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union Andrei Belyakov told BelTA.
“The participation in planting apple gardens as part of the Flowers of the Great Victory campaign unites people, the youth. Such events should be held not only ahead of the Great Victory Day. For us the 70th anniversary of the Victory is a sacred date that reminds us about the price we paid for the victory. There is not a single family that did not face the sorrows of the war. About 28 million residents of the Soviet Union sacrificed their lives so that we could live under peaceful skies,” Andrei Belyakov said.
According to the First Secretary, it is important that Belarus is a sovereign and independent state today. It is necessary to ensure national security for people’s peaceful life. Only together we can build a strong state.
The apple tree planting campaign took place at the Institute of Border Service of the Republic of Belarus on 10 April.
