MINSK, 30 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian News Agency BelTA has launched a new Internet project Chronicle of Victory to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Anyone interested in the history of the Great Patriotic War can visit the website http://peramoga.belta.by to see the photos and learn more about the history of the war. All the information is divided into themed sections.
The website provides information about the battles that set the course of the Second World War and were decisive for the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. A separate section is dedicated to the chronicle of Belarus’ liberation. The section History of One Photo contains the stories told by the people depicted in these photos. The website features many unique photographs that give a glimpse of the life during the Great Patriotic War. Among the photographs there are works by BelTA’s photo journalists about the battles of the war, about people who lived on the territory occupied by the Nazi invaders, and about Belarus’ post-war reconstruction. Jointly with the National Library of Belarus, BelTA has prepared a section with photocopies of a famous Soviet satirical newspaper.
The authors of the project believe that the Internet project Chronicle of Victory contributes to the patriotic education of young people and gives them a chance to learn more about the history of the Great Patriotic War.
