GOMEL, 24 August (BelTA) – The international peace march to mark the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory with take place on 24-28 August with the participation of youth organizations of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learnt from the Gomel Oblast Committee of the BRSM Youth Union.
Partaking in the march will be about 50 representatives of youth organizations of Gomel and Kursk Oblasts. The march will kick off with a wreath and flower ceremony at the memorial to commemorate the fallen in the Great Patriotic War and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Kursk on 24 August. In the evening the Russian delegation will arrive in Gomel.
The two-day peace march will cover Gomel, Krasny Bereg, Rogachev and Tikhinichi. In each of these towns the participants of the march will visit war burial places, lay wreaths and take part in meetings.
The march participants will also visit Minsk and Brest and then go back to Kursk on 28 August.
The youth of Gomel and Kursk Oblasts have been cooperating since 2004. The annual youth delegation of Gomel Oblast takes a regular part in profile programs of the Kursk Oblast public association Monolit. In turn, the Russian youth take part in the activity of the international camp of Slavonic children Krinichka (Rogachev).
