MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – A facsimile collection of Belarus' first book printer Francysk Skaryna’s heritage has been donated to the National Library of Spain, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Spain.
The books were handed over by Charge d’Affaires a.i. of Belarus to Spain Aleksei Panferov during a meeting with Deputy Director, Head of the Funds of the National Library of Spain Yolanda Ruiz Esteban in Madrid. The Belarusian diplomat spoke about the history of the Belarusian book printing, which 500th anniversary is marked this year, and also about first East-Slavonic book printer Francysk Skaryna.
Yolanda Ruiz Esteban said that the books would take a decent place in the National Library of Spain.
The parties also discussed cooperation between the national libraries of the two countries.
