MINSK, 8 July (BelTA) – Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Boleslav Pirshtuk made a few comments for mass media on 8 July. In particular, he talked about the draft resolution presented as part of the 26th summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA) to describe the state of affairs in Eastern Europe, BelTA has learned.
Referring to the session of the OSCE PA General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights, and Humanitarian Questions, the deputy head of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament said: “Unfortunately, double standards exist and are preserved. Even the events that occurred in Hamburg, Germany yesterday invoked no bad or negative comments [except for those by the Belarusian senator Sergei Gaidukevich].”
“Nevertheless, we drew attention and believe that we should continue looking for supporters and promoting our interests,” said Boleslav Pirshtuk.
The 26th summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe is taking place in Minsk on 5-9 July.
