MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) – The amendments suggested by the Belarusian delegation have been included in the draft resolution of the OSCE PA General Committee on Political Affairs and Security at the 26th Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Minsk, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.
Specifically, the draft resolution will include a paragraph on the structured dialogue on the current and future security challenges and threats in the OSCE region. The dialogue launched in April 2017 is now a key process in the OSCE aimed at restoring trust between the member states, the press service said.
The General Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment also approved an amendment sponsored by Belarus to align the integration processes in the OSCE region.
Members of the National Assembly of Belarus took part in a number of side events and the lunch on gender issues.
Minsk is hosting the OSCE PA session on 5-9 July. The MPs discuss ways to enhance mutual trust and cooperation for peace and prosperity in the region. The agenda of the session comprises reports of three general committees: on political affairs and security; on economic affairs, science, technology, and environment; on democracy, human rights, and humanitarian affairs. Resolutions to be adopted as a result of the discussions will become the foundation of the Minsk declaration, which will formulate recommendations for national governments, parliaments, and the international community on responding to pressing challenges and threats.
