MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – A temporary passenger transport terminal with 28 waiting platforms will be arranged for guests of the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 in the city’s Student Village. The information was released by Valery Shkuratov, Director of the state enterprise Metropolitan Transport and Communications, during a session of the working group on Minsk city maintenance and beautification on 8 February, BelTA has learned.
The temporary terminal will be fitted with pavilions and display boards. It will handle 11 lines. Another transport terminal will be established near the traffic circle Gorodskoi Val to organize four lines connecting sport venues, the sport village, and the Minsk National Airport. Experts are looking through design specifications and estimates, construction is expected to begin in May, Valery Shkuratov said.
The main transport corridors have been chosen for the sake of delivering participants of the games to sport venues within 30 minutes. Traffic plans have been developed to prioritize public transport and pedestrian traffic.
