MINSK, 8 July (BelTA) – A total of 213,000 tickets was sold for the competitions of the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Belarus Sport and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk said in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“Of 213,000 tickets some 12,700 tickets were sold to foreign tourists. Various public organizations invited about 7,000 foreign representatives to attend the games,” the minister said.
Travel companies organized tours for 15,000 guests to Minsk during the 2nd European Games. “We are not taking into account guests from the neighboring countries: Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. There were also tourists from China. Today we see the official statistics of 35,000 tourists. This is without taking into account the visitors who came to the country on their own, without the help of travel companies,” the minister noted.
