MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) – The Student Village in Minsk where athletes will live during the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 is now guarded 24/7, BelTA learned from Dmitry Kolodinsky, Deputy Chief of the Public Security Police of the Moskovsky District Police Department of the Minsk City Police Department.
According to the source, as of 11 June the Student Village is guarded round-the-clock. Over the course of four days demolition experts will examine every nook and cranny in the village starting with basements and ending with attics. The checked premises will be sealed off until the guests arrive. Four checkpoints can be used to enter the Student Village. Only accredited maintenance personnel, emergency services and vehicles bringing in food are allowed to access the Student Village for now. All the people and vehicles are thoroughly searched.
Over 70 CCTV cameras have been deployed to monitor the surrounding territory. More traffic police units have been stationed on the roads. During the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 the Student Village is expected to host over 4,000 people.
