MINSK, 26 February (BelTA) – More than 250 dishes will be on the daily menu for athletes and coaches of the 2nd European Games, Yulia Kravchenko, head of catering at the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee, told the media on 26 February, BelTA has learned.
One of the largest sports facilities during the European Games, the Athletes’ Village, will accommodate about 6,000 people. The dining hall there is designed for 2,000 seats. “The menu will include dishes of European, Belarusian and Asian cuisine, kosher meals. Athletes will be able to visit the dining hall any time, without any restrictions. Approximately 250-270 dishes will be on the daily menu in the Athletes’ Village,” Yulia Kravchenko said.
During the 2nd European Games the catering program will cover more than 1,800 guests, about 1,200 media representatives, 500 employees of the broadcasting company and about 8,000 volunteers. “These are different programs. An athlete needs 5-6kg of food while other participants much less. We will not forget about fans. Special catering points will be organized for them,” Yulia Kravchenko informed.
The 2nd European Games will take place in Minsk on 21-30 June 2019. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete in 199 medal events in 15 sports. Competitions in eight sports will be qualifiers for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
