MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) – A session of the republican committee in charge of organizing the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 took place on 13 March. It was chaired by Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas, BelTA has learned.
Participants of the session discussed progress in preparing the facility, which will offer meals to participants of the 2nd European Games in the Athletes’ Village. Reports were presented on organizing the work of an operation and coordination center, an interagency situational center, coordinating centers at sport venues of the games. The subcommittee on welcoming official participants and guests presented its report. The outfitting of members of the republican organizing committee and employees of the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC) was also discussed.
The 2nd European Games will take place in Minsk on 21-30 June 2019. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete in 199 medal events in 15 sports. Competitions in eight sports will be qualifiers for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
