MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – Minsk will open city information points for tourists during the 2nd European Games where volunteers will tell about the competition program and the sights of the city, Elena Plis, director of the Information and Tourist Center Minsk, said as she spoke at a board meeting of the main sport and tourism department of the Minsk city administration, BelTA has learned.
Infopoints will be deployed near sports facilities, hotels, fan zones, Minsk National Airport, central bus station and railway station, Students’ Village, and along the main tourist routes such as Svobody Square and Nezavisimosti Square.
“Trained volunteers will provide information in Russian and other languages about the program of the 2nd European Games, public transport routes, Minsk and Belarus tourist attractions. They will also distribute printed materials about the capital, city maps, booklets about places of interest,” Elena Plis said.
The work is carried out in coordination with the the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC). Infopoints were already tested in September 2018 in the Upper Town during the festivals of national cultures (Georgia, Israel, Moldova, and Azerbaijan).
The second edition of the European Games will be held in Minsk from 21 to 30 June.
