MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) – Minsk City Hall has decided to restrict access of freight transport to Minsk to early morning, late evening, or night during the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Vadim Garkun, head of the Minsk road police of the interior affairs department at Minsk City Hall, said in a press conference in the press center of the Belarus Segodnya publishing house, BelTA has learned.
All organizations providing delivery services to Minsk enterprises will plan their work ahead in order to minimize city traffic during the 2nd European Games. They have been asked to reschedule shippings for early morning, late evening, or night hours, Vadim Garkun said.
The Minsk road police will keep track of freight vehicles in the streets of Minsk in the daytime and inform local authorities about violations. They, in turn, will deal with organizations ignoring the Minsk City Hall instruction.
Vadim Garkun said that transit freight transport will also be discouraged from entering Minsk during the European Games. Toll payments for using toll roads in the vicinity of Minsk will be raised to prompt transit transport to choose other routes.
