MINSK, 6 July (BelTA) – Minsk will host a test badminton tournament ahead of the 2nd European Games MINSK 2019 in September, BelTA learned from the press service of the European Games Directorate.
Belarus International will be held from 6 to 9 September in the Falcon Club and will be the first event of the European badminton cup (Futures series).
Technical delegate the European Badminton Confederation (BEC) Jimmy Andersen and experts of the organization visited Minsk ahead of the event. They examined the status of preparations for the 2nd European Games. According to the directorate, the badminton confederation delegation discussed the issues of refereeing during the upcoming event, examined the game and warm-up zones in the Falcon Club.
The badminton tournament at the 2nd European Games MINSK 2019 will feature five medal events: men’s and women’s singles and doubles, and mixed doubles. Participants will have the chance to earn points required for qualification for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
