MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) – Borisov Arena welcomed the Flame of Peace torch relay of the 2nd European Games on 13 June, BelTA has learned.
The torch relay arrived at the stadium at 10:00. Borisov torchbearers included FC BATE Head Coach Alyaksey Baha, former FC BATE midfielder Aleksandr Hleb, FC Torpedo-BelAZ midfielder Andrey Khachaturyan, and showman Vadim Galygin. After the welcoming event, they held a master-class for young footballers.
After Borisov, the Flame of Peace torch relay will move on to Zodino.
The Flame of the 2nd European Games was lit in Rome on 3 May. Then, Belarusian climbers took the torch to the summit of Mont Blanc. In Europe, the Flame of Peace traveled through Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. In Belarus, the torch relay has already visited Brest Oblast, Grodno Oblast, Vitebsk Oblast, Mogilev Oblast, and Gomel Oblast.
Minsk will welcome the Flame of Peace in State Flag Square on 17 June. The Torch will travel along Pobediteley Avenue on 17 June and along Nezavisimosti Avenue on 18 June. On 19 June, torchbearers will travel across Minsk enterprises and parks, attend the greeting ceremony for athletes at the Athletes' Village. The Flame of Peace torch relay will finish at Dinamo National Olympic Stadium during the opening ceremony of the 2nd European Games on 21 June.
