MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) – Sports and cultural venues of the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 demonstrate a high organizational level, European Games Executive Director Simon Clegg told a press conference on 20 June, BelTA has learned.
The European Games executive director stated that he had been watching the preparations for the games from the very beginning. He added that the organizers did a good job transforming Minsk into a festive space. Simon Clegg praised a high organizational level at sports and cultural venues of the upcoming games in Minsk. He stressed that Belarusians are showing a great interest in the games.
Chairman of the Coordination Commission of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) for Minsk 2019 Spyros Capralos noted that Belarus has already hosted big sports competitions. The European Games will help Belarus become recognizable in many corners of the world.
The 2nd European Games will take place in Minsk on 21-30 June and will feature over 4,000 of the continent’s best athletes from 50 nations competing in 200 medal events across 15 sports.
