MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – A team of the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC) has held its first training session in the run-up to the Minsk Half Marathon that will be held on 9 September, BelTA learned from the MEGOC press service.
The training session took place in the Pobedy Park. The MEGOC team consists of over 50 people. They will also help children with autism as part of the Sport Inclusion campaign supported by two-time Olympic silver medalist in swimming Aleksandra Gerasimenya.
The MEGOC team will also take part in the Bright 3x3 Basketball event that will be held in the PALOVA Arena, one of the venues of the 2nd European Games, on 29 August. The competition will be complemented by a show, quizzes, and a performance by a break dance team and the HC Dinamo-Minsk cheerleading team Ice Girls. The spectators will also see a match featuring Belarusian basketball veterans.
The press service noted that the MEGOC uses the Bright Team PR campaign to draw attention to the forthcoming European Games. The first event of the campaign took place on the new beach soccer stadium on 1 August.
