Second European Games in Belarus

MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) - The budget hotels of Minsk will develop an integrated package of services ahead of the 2019 European Games, Director of Hotel D’Europe Oleg Yermola said at a daily briefing in Minsk City Hall on 22 January, BelTA has learned.

The package will include accommodation, transfer, catering, rental of football fields, a speed skating rink, an ice rink, and an bicycle track. Contracts are concluded with companies specializing in medical tourism to attract people interested in receiving treatment in the Minsk healthcare facilities.

According to Oleg Yermola, in 2013 Hotel D’Europe became a founding shareholder of the Hotels of the Capital company, which includes three standard two-star hotels Sport Time, East Time and IT Time, built ahead of the 2014 IIHF World Championship. Each hotel includes 134 rooms of different comfort levels. They are primarily designed to accommodate athletes, students of children's and youth sport schools, tourists who prefer budget accommodation, staff and participants of city events. In 2017, the hotel occupancy rate averaged 42%, the average daily rate was €24.

The company also includes the five-star Hotel D’Europe for 67 rooms, which is situated in the historical center of Minsk. It reopened to visitors in 2007. Last year, the occupancy rate increased by 2.6% vs 2016 to 44.9%.
