MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – Several hundreds of sketches have been submitted as part of the competition for a mascot of the 2019 Second European Games, Belarus’ Information Minister Alexander Karlyukevich said during an online conference hosted by BelTA on 25 October.
A large-scale information campaign has been launched in mass media and social networks to explain the rules and concept of the competition. “Several hundreds of drawings have been submitted so far. In my opinion, however, these sketches do not fully reflect the ideas that are laid down in the concept,” said Alexander Karlyukevich. Most of the participants are students of art schools. Sketches are well done technically, but “more creativity is needed”, the minister said.
Anatoly Kotov, Deputy Director of the 2019 Second European Games Directorate, added that the winner will get a set of tickets for the most spectacular events of the 2019 European Games, including its opening and closing ceremonies, a gear set of the Belarusian national team and other gifts, including the mascot created using the winning sketch.
