MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Five new hotels will open in Minsk before the 2019 Second European Games, head of the household and hospitality services department at the Minsk City Hall Yuri Natychko told the media on 24 October, BelTA has learned.
Three hotels will be commissioned in 2017. They will be located in Oktyabskaya Street, Zybitkaya Street and at the intersection between Pobeditelei Avenue and the Minsk Ring Road. Two more hotels will open their doors in 2018. The one will be located behind Pobeda Cinema House, the other – at the intersection between Vesninka Street and Pobeditelei Avenue.
There are a total of 50 hotels in the Belarusian capital that can accommodate about 11,400 guests. It is expected that by early 2019 the total number of hotel rooms will increase to 7,000 for 12,700 guests. If needed, 26 facilities in Minsk District will be used to accommodate guests.
The 2019 European Games will be held in Minsk on 21-30 July. Taking part in the competitions will be 4,000 athletes from 50 countries.
