MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) – First Belarusian athletes will move into the Athletes Village of the European Games on 18 June, deputy chef de mission, Belarus’ First Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister Dmitry Dovgalenok told a press briefing on 13 June to discuss the participation of the Belarusian delegation in the forthcoming games, BelTA has learned.
“Team Belarus will be staying in a new building in the Athletes Village which has been painted with logos of the games. The athletes will share rooms (two persons per room). The first Belarusian athletes will move in on 18 June. These will be representative of 3x3 basketball, boxing and archery,” said Dmitry Dovgalenok.
The Belarusian delegation will be one of the largest. “Our medical group and headquarters of the delegation will be staying in the village too,” he added.
Team Belarus outfits, volunteers uniform and Team Belarus outfits for the opening and closing ceremonies, podium ceremonies were presented during the press briefing.
Minsk will host the 2nd European Games on 21-30 June. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete in 15 sports. Competitions in eight sports will be qualifiers for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
