MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) – The venues of the European Games will be declared smoke-free zones, Olga Bartman, the head of the public health department at the National Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health, informed BelTA.
“We are planning to restrict smoking at the sports venues hosting the competitions and also near the hotels accommodating guests and participants of the games,” Olga Bartman noted.
She added that the European Games will be granted the status of smoking-free competitions. Smoking restrictions will be in place inside and outside the sports venues.
The European Games will take place at 12 sport sites in Minsk on 21-30 June. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete for 199 medal sets in 15 sports.
