MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – The website dedicated to the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 has been updated exactly one year before the event is scheduled to begin, the press service of the agency in charge of organizing the games told BelTA.
minsk2019.by will highlight progress in preparations for the games, achievements of Belarusian athletes, a detailed schedule of the sport events, information about sport facilities, contests to be held ahead of the games, and the most impressive photos and videos reflecting the atmosphere of the forthcoming sport holiday.
The update has made the website even easier to use. Users from all over the world can already appreciate the changes in the design and the increased information content. In addition to information about the sport component of the games the new website will present the country’s tourism potential. “The update is not the final change. A full-scale mobile version and a mobile app have yet to be developed. Certainly, some sections of the website are under construction but the website is already functional. It can satisfy one’s interest in the largest sport event in Belarus’ history by offering all the information available right now,” said Aleksei Bogdanovich, manager for communications and mass media of the 2nd European Games 2019 Directorate.
The website has been updated in association with the company Synesis Sport, which is the official developer of the software and technology part of the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019. Yulia Gorelik, head of the Internet services division at Synesis Sport, said: “Developing the official web portal of the European Games 2019, we tried to make it stylish, stable, convenient, and functional. We expect a strong interest in the event, this is why the website needs to stay stable, show no errors, and stay online regardless of the number of visitors. In other words, nothing should impede search for and acquisition of the necessary information.” By accessing the website, users can see the full schedule of the games and key events of the day, the description of sport venues and detailed instructions on how to reach them in addition to photos and videos. If necessary, one can make plans for a sightseeing tour by selecting the appropriate guide, buy souvenirs, or learn more about one’s favorite athletes. This function will be improved gradually as the games draw closer. One year ahead of the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 the website is supposed to be a source of news and a promotion instrument and it does it well.
The 2nd European Games are scheduled to take place at 12 sport venues in Minsk on 21-30 June 2019. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete for awards in 15 sports. Competitions in ten sports will qualify athletes for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
