MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – The customs services of Belarus and Ukraine will cooperate more tightly during the 2019 European Games, the press service of the State Customs Committee of Belarus told BelTA.
Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Yuri Senko met with Acting Chairman of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine Miroslav Prodan on 21 November. Two memorandums were signed as a result of the meeting. The two agencies will work together in personnel training. The two agencies also declared their intention to work together when Belarus hosts the Second European Games in 2019.
The head of Belarus’ Customs said that Belarusian and Ukrainian customs agencies had enjoyed tight cooperation for many years. “Today’s meeting represents an important practical step. It will allow discussing topical matters of bilateral cooperation in addition to determining strategic priorities and concrete steps as part of interaction of our administrations,” said Yuri Senko.
Representatives of the Belarusian and Ukrainian customs services discussed the facilitation of customs formalities and the transition to modern information technologies. Cooperation between the two agencies in fighting customs violations was discussed. Advantages for authorized economic operators and the work of free economic zones in view of the enforcement of the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union were talked over as well.
