MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – The main fan zone of the 2nd European Games near the Sports Palace will be launched in the evening of 19 June, Deputy Head of the Culture Department of the Minsk City Hall Aleksandr Shestakov told the media, BelTA has learned.
Its working hours will be from 10 in the morning till midnight. On the days of the opening and closing ceremonies it will stay open till 4 in the morning.
“The launch event will start at 19.00. We have prepared a great entertainment program. The President Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus will present the new program The Final Countdown prepared specially for the games. The line-up also includes Irina Dorofeyeva, Inna Afanasyeva, Georgy Koldun, Aleksandr Solodukha, Ruslan Alekhno and others. They will sing both European hits and Belarusian songs. We are happy to welcome guests from all over the world and introduce them to the culture of Belarus,’” Aleksandr Shestakov said.
The concert program titled as Time of Bright Victories on 21 June will feature well-known Belarusian artists and bands who will perform songs about sport. In the following days the concert program will be running in various formats: Bright Kids, Bright Folk, Bright Stage, Bright Orchestra, Bright Dance representing different genres and targeting different age audiences.
The concert program will also feature concerts by artists and bands from other countries, entertainment events by radio stations. NOCs of the participating countries will make their presentations. The Belarusian Petanque Federation and the Belarusian public association of national types of wrestling will show their exhibition programs. A great program has been prepared for little fans in the mini fan zone organized jointly with UNICEF.
Other fan zones – at Minsk Arena and Chizhovka Arena – will open on 21 June. Their working hours: from 10.00 till 23.30 (till 1.00 on 21 June and 30 June).
In the afternoon the fan zones will broadcast competitions of the 2nd European Games, highlights. In the evening they will turn into concert venues. The fan zones will sell a wide selection of souvenirs and also refreshments.
Other venues in Minsk have also prepared their programs to attract visitors: the Upper Town will host Jazz Evenings and other music programs. Svobody Square will run concert programs from 20.30 till 23.00.
